Iran Press/ Iran news: Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, met with Mohammad Eslami, head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Thursday morning in Tehran.
Grossi and Eslami addressed reporters after the meeting, outlining their positions and the results of their discussion.
Mohammad Eslami, head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, said: "Contacts and visits between Iranian officials and Mr. Grossi have always been constructive, and this trip also resulted in productive discussions."
Iran to IAEA: Reject "Arrogant Powers"
Eslami added: "This meeting at this juncture is of great importance, especially as the psychological operations of the arrogant powers are damaging the reputation of international organizations. We ask the Director General not to allow this extremist movement, through its influence and the issuance of interventionist resolutions, to affect the relationship between Iran and the agency."
He added: "We have repeatedly stated that any interventionist resolution on Iran's nuclear affairs will be met with an immediate response. We will not be influenced by these pressures, and we will vigorously continue our peaceful nuclear program within the framework of our national interests."
Iran: Nuclear Program Benefits People
Eslami noted: "Iran's comprehensive nuclear industry program began two years ago so that its results in the areas of health and food security would be tangible for the people."
The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency said at the news conference: "I am pleased to be back in Tehran and to have a very important trip under the current circumstances. We are aware of the serious conditions that the region is grappling with, and we hope this trip will be successful."
IAEA Seeks Iran Deal
Rafael Grossi added: "The IAEA and Iran have been working for a long time, and we must reach a practical and tangible result."
He said: "During my previous visit to Isfahan, I was briefed on Iran's important actions in the field of science and technology. The capacity that Iran has created for the welfare of the people of the region is significant."
Rafael Grossi arrived in Tehran on Wednesday evening, Nov. 14, leading a delegation for talks with senior Iranian nuclear and political officials. He was greeted by Behrouz Kamalvandi, spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran.
