Yasuj (IP) - Director General of Cultural Heritage and Handicrafts Department od Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad said that A 5.2 magnitude earthquake this afternoon in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province caused serious damage to the historical texture of Dehdasht, the center of Kohgiluyeh city.

Iran Press/Iran news: The old texture of Balad Shapur with an area of ??45 hectares is one of the largest historical textures in the country, but this texture was destroyed due to the development of urbanization and 37 hectares of this old city still remains.

According to historical evidence, the geographical location of this city as one of the centers of Safavid settlement and trade with southern ports has played an important role in the economy and trade of its time.

The existence of over 2,000 houses, mosques, baths, caravanserais, and a large bazaar in this old texture shows the high antiquity of this city.

The presence of an old citadel, mosques, baths, caravanserais, shrines and towers and fortifications around the city is a collection of remnants of this historic building, part of which has been rebuilt.205/219
