Iran Press/ Iran news: The 35th round of Iran-Azerbaijan Bicycle Racing is underway in Eastern Azerbaijan, Western Azerbaijan, and Ardabil, northwestern Iran, with the participation of 11 teams – eight teams from Iran and 8 teams from Malaysia, South Africa, Germany, Indonesia, Morocco, Thailand, Belgium, and Iraq.
Ervin cist Macer, the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) representative, told Iran Press in an interview that the event started with small steps and turned into an international one.
The Head of the Cycling Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Rasoul Hashem-Kandi, told IP that the 35th round of the cycling competitions kicked off after a 2-year delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with the participation of cyclists from 3 continents.
He added that the tour is held at the semi-professional level, and the grad UCI allowed for that was equivalent to the Asian Championship.
The competitions began on September 29 and are underway until October 3.
