Tehran (IP)- Director-General of West Asia of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran expressed hope that an inclusive government would be formed in Afghanistan.

Iran Press/Iran news: Iran's foreign ministry Director-General for West-Asia Seyyed Rasoul Mousavi who traveled to Kabul with Foreign Minister's assistant and special envoy for Afghanistan, Mohammad Ebrahim Taherian, expressed optimism about the results of the trip on a Twitter post.

"With the formation of an inclusive government, Afghan officials will take a major step towards inter-Afghan dialogue and peace and stability in the country," Mousavi tweeted.

During his visit to Kabul, Foreign Minister's assistant and special envoy for Afghanistan, Mohammad Ebrahim Taherian, met with Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, Abdullah Abdullah, former President Hamid Karzai, and other officials.

Taherian also met with UN Secretary-General's Deputy Special Representative for Afghanistan Ingrid Hayden and exchanged views on current issues in Afghanistan, emphasizing the need to strengthen the UN's role in Afghanistan.

Ashraf Ghani and Abdullah Abdullah declared themselves the winners after the recent Afghan presidential election, which has led to a political crisis in the country.
