Iran's foreign minister, Mohammad-Javad Zarif, is expected to leave Tehran for Moscow on Saturday, to participate in a meeting on Syria.

Iran's foreign ministry's spokesman, Bahram Qasemi, confirmed on Friday that Zarif  during his day-long visit to Russia will take part in a trilateral meeting with his Russian and Turkish counterparts,

The meeting is aimed at discussing the latest developments in Syria.

The previous round of negotiations between the top diplomats of Iran, Russia, and Turkey, acting as guarantors of the Syrian ceasefire, were held in Kazakhstan's Astana on March 16.
