Tehran (IP) - Hossein Amir-Abdollahi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, and Ibrahim Boughali, the Speaker of the National Assembly of Algeria, met Monday evening at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Iran PressIran News: In this meeting, there was a discussion and exchange of views on issues of common interest and areas of development of cooperation between the two countries, including in parliamentary diplomacy.

Referring to the high level of political relations between Iran and Algeria, Amir- Abdollahian emphasized the will of Tehran to develop relations with Algiers in various fields, mainly economic, commercial, and tourism.r

FM also praised the efforts of the Algerian people in the fight against colonialism and supporting Palestine and condemned the recent insults against Islamic sanctities.

Referring to the role of the assemblies of Islamic countries to counter Islamophobia and insults against Islamic sanctities, FM said that it is important for Iran and Algeria to organize a virtual meeting of heads of Islamic parliaments to condemn the recent insults against Islamic holy places and the Holy Quran.

In this meeting, the Speaker of the National Assembly of Algeria also pointed out the shared views of the two countries on many international issues and thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran for supporting Algeria's membership in the United Nations Security Council. 

Boghali referred to cooperation in different dimensions, especially economic and commercial relations and the development of parliamentary relations.

Boghali condemned the recent terrorist incident in Shah hineCheragh and the targeting of innocent people.

The speaker of the Algerian parliament also pointed to the destructive role of the Zionist regime in many crises and problems of the Islamic world and emphasized
