IP- Iran's ambassador to Russia announced that Iranian product exports to Russia exceeded $2 billion in 2023.

Iran PressEurope: Kazem Jalali, announced that the specialized committees of the 17th Permanent Commission for Economic and Commercial Cooperation between the two countries will convene on Monday and Tuesday.

The diplomat stated that both countries' officials are making efforts to use national currencies in their exchanges. Tehran and Moscow are aiming to increase the volume of trade based on national currencies, which is a serious approach for both nations.

The Iranian ambassador to Russia announced that monetary and banking cooperation between the two nations is expanding, and the implementation of agreements will help overcome many obstacles in this area.

Ambassador Jalali also hailed the signing of a free trade agreement between Iran and the five member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union as a significant achievement. He highlighted that once this agreement is put into effect, customs tariffs on over 90% of goods traded between Iran and the Eurasian Union will be eliminated.

On December 25, Iran and the Eurasian Union's member states, which include Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Armenia, signed the free trade agreement in St. Petersburg.
