(IP)- Tehran and Moscow pledged to further strengthen their bilateral ties during a recent meeting between the two countries' top security officials.

Iran PressEurope: Ali Akbar Ahmadian, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, made his first official visit to Moscow since taking office, meeting with his counterpart, Nikolai Patrushev, secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.

Both sides emphasized their commitment to deepening cooperation across various fields.

Ahmadian underscored the importance of "crafting" stronger ties between Iran and Russia, highlighting the potential for enhanced collaboration.

Patrushev, expressing Moscow's solidarity with Tehran, offered condolences for the recent terrorist attack in Kerman.

The meeting comes amidst a backdrop of expanding Iran-Russia relations. Patrushev noted the positive trajectory of bilateral cooperation in various sectors, underscoring their joint desire to reach "higher levels" of partnership.
