Poland (IP) - In a stunning display of skill and power, Iran swept aside Germany in the 2023 Volleyball Nations League (VNL) Week 2 match on Tuesday, winning in straight sets with scores of 25-23, 26-24, and 25-16.

The Iranians have a tough road ahead as they are set to face the volleyball powerhouses Italy on Wednesday, followed by matches against the United States and the Netherlands on Friday and Saturday, respectively. These upcoming clashes will undoubtedly test Iran's mettle and determine their standing in the VNL.

The VNL Preliminary Phase spans three weeks of intense competition, with all 16 participating teams engaging in a total of 12 matches each. The stakes are high, as only the top eight national teams from the Preliminary Phase will secure a coveted spot in the Final Phase.

The highly anticipated Final Phase is scheduled to take place in Gdańsk, Poland, from July 19 to 23. Host country Poland has already secured their place among the elite, leaving seven remaining spots up for grabs. With Iran's dominant performance against Germany, they have showcased their strength and are positioning themselves as serious contenders in the race for VNL glory.
