Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in a meeting with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden, Annika S?der

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister stressed that the unilateral implementation of Iran Nuclear Deal is not justifiable, adding that Tehran is determined to take the next steps regarding the scaling down commitments under the JCPOA.

Iran Press/Iran News: Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi made the remarks on Wednesday in the fifth round of political consultations between Iran and Sweden presided by Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister and his Swedish counterpart.

In this round of consultations, held in Tehran, the parties discussed important international issues and developments as well as issues of bilateral relations.

Araghchi praised the growing interaction and cooperation between the two countries in bilateral, regional and international levels, saying that despite the US' withdrawal from the JCPOA, sanctions, and the maximum pressure, Iran has tried to keep windows of engagement and diplomacy open, but unfortunately, Europe has only limited political support and refrains from paying the cost for the life of the agreement.

He added that Iran's decision to restore to the approach of the maximum and active resistance in the face of maximum pressure is in response to the unacceptable policies of the US.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden, Annika Söder, for her part, outlined the political will of Sweden to continue holding bilateral cooperation and solving issues between the two states, noting: “Sweden, in coordination with the Europe Union, has supported preserving and implementing the JCPOA which guarantees the security benefits and positive effects for all parties. Sweden still hopes the JCPOA continues to survive in the wake of EU's efforts to ensure Iran's benefits from the deal.”
