Broadening of economic relations can lead to sustainable cooperation between Tehran and Tbilisi, Ali Larijani said on Saturday in a meeting with Head of Georgia-Iran Parliamentary Friendship Group Shalva Kiknavelidze.
He referred to Iran's progress in the field of medicine and medical equipment and noted that Iran is keen to increase economic cooperation with Georgia.
During the meeting, Kiknavelidze, for his part, lauded the current level of cooperation between the two countries and the progress have been made in recent years.
He also welcomed establishment of branches of Iranian banks in Georgia.
Georgia is ready for the elevation of cooperation with Iran in tourism and economic fields, the official said.
He noted that talks are underway with the Iranian officials in various fields of energy and transportation.
