Foreign Ministers of Iran and Belgium held a phone conversation about important bilateral, regional and international developments.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, in a phone call with Hadja Lahbib the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belgium, considered the long-standing relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Belgium to be a suitable basis for the continuation of constructive dialogue and interaction between the two sides.

Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs welcomed the development of bilateral cooperation between the two countries in various political, economic and cultural fields based on mutual respect and interests.

The Belgian Foreign Minister also pointed to the importance of the history of relations between the two countries and the role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the region, adding: "Continuing mutual contacts and being aware of the realities of Iran can play an important role in establishing a correct understanding of developments."

In the continuation of this conversation, the foreign ministers of the two countries discussed and exchanged views on the most important issues on the agenda of bilateral relations, including consular ones. 219
