Tehran (IP)- Following a meeting with Armenia's Minister of Economy on Monday, Iran’s energy minister said that the two countries expand cooperation in various economic fields.

Iran PressIran News: Expanding economic ties between Iran and Armenia and reviewing the existing obstacles in this way was discussed in this meeting, Iran's energy minister Reza Ardakanian added.

Ardakanian went on to say that the ways to control what contaminates Aras River were also examined, hoping that previous promises will be met.

Although the project of the third line of transferring electricity to Armenia has stopped temporarily due to the coronavirus pandemic,  it will resume in the first half of 2021, he stressed.

Iran’s Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian met with Armenia’s Economic Minister Vahan Kerobyan today in Tehran.

The Armenian Minister of Economy arrived in Tehran on Friday to increase the level of trade with Iran.

Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade, Alireza Razm Hosseini and Armenian Economy Minister Vahan Kerobyan signed a memorandum of understanding on expanding trade cooperation on Sunday between two countries.

The Armenian Minister of Economy also had a meeting with the Governor of the Central Bank of Iran, Abdolnaser Hemmati.

He also on Sunday had a meeting with economic activists of the Isfahan Chamber of Commerce.

Kerobyan left Isfahan for Tehran on Sunday night after visiting the historical monuments of this city including Vank church.
