Iran Press/Asia: His remarks came during a meeting with Tajik Prime Minister Qohir Rasulzoda on Thursday, as both leaders sought to expand bilateral cooperation.
Reflecting on the rich shared heritage, Pezeshkian noted the deep ties between Iran and Tajikistan, rooted in centuries of linguistic, cultural, and historical bonds. "Walking through the streets of Dushanbe, I see names like Rudaki, Ferdowsi, and Hafez—figures we studied in our schoolbooks. It feels as though we are still at home," he remarked, highlighting the cultural resonance between the two nations.
Commitment to Enhanced Cooperation
The Iranian president stressed the importance of leveraging these commonalities to strengthen ties across all sectors. "Our shared history compels us to elevate our relationship day by day and deepen cooperation in every field," Pezeshkian stated. He affirmed Iran's willingness to overcome any obstacles to advance collaboration, particularly in trade and investment.
He also advocated for a preferential trade agreement to facilitate economic exchanges and pave the way for greater bilateral trade. "Easing trade relations is one of the most effective ways to bolster ties," he added.

Prime Minister Rasulzoda called for doubling the trade volume between the two nations and emphasized the need for deeper collaboration in areas ranging from technology to cultural exchanges. "Iran's scientific and technological capabilities are impressive," Rasulzoda remarked.
