Iran Press/Middle East: In this memorandum, senior officials of the two countries reached an agreement on forming a joint trade working group, establishing trade centers between the private sectors of the two countries, establishing commercial affiliates in the embassies of both sides, and also using the ports of the two countries.
Other provisions of this memorandum include cooperation between chambers of commerce and encouraging the private sector of the two countries for joint ventures and reviewing appropriate solutions to facilitate this agreement, beneficial agreements for the development of cooperation in the fields of electricity, water, sewage, and gas, and beneficial agreements related to the development of cooperation in the field of cultural heritage, handicrafts, and tourism, including the holding of a cultural week and the promotion of traditional industries and arts.
Cooperation in the field of production of pharmaceutical needs and medical equipment of the Qatari side in Iran and encouraging the private sector of the two countries in this field, agreement to sign a cooperation document in the field of higher education and scientific research, Qatari side uses Iranian port and railway facilities for transit and transportation of goods, extensive agreements in the areas of communications, information technology, protection and repair of fiber optic (submarine) cables were other provisions of this document.
The seventh meeting of the Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Qatar was held in Isfahan with Reza Ardakanian and Ahmad Al-Kawari, the heads of Joint Commissions of the two countries.
