Iran Press/ Middle East: "The Islamic Republic respects the sovereignty, the people and the government of Iraq, and the missile attack on Erbil was not against the sovereignty of Iraq, but a reaction against the Zionists and the Mossad spy base," Iranian Ambassador to Iraq Iraj Masjedi said at a meeting in Karbala.
Masjedi added: "In Iraqi Kurdistan, they established a base for the Israelis and from there they worked against the security of the Islamic Republic of Iran."
"Iran can not give up its security," the ambassador said. "We have repeatedly warned the leaders of the Iraqi Kurdish region, but this base acted against Iran's security and the Islamic Republic also acted against it."
Two Mossad bases were attacked in Erbil on Saturday morning.
News sources reported that nine Mosad agents were killed, and several others were injured.
