Kabul (IP) - The new ambassador of Iran to Afghanistan and the leader of Hizb-e-Islami and the Afghan former prime minister met and discussed the most important issues related to Afghanistan.

Iran PressAsia: Hezb-e-Islami, or “Party of Islam,” is a political and paramilitary organization in Afghanistan founded in 1976 by former Afghan prime minister Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, who has been prominent in various Afghan conflicts since the late 1970s.

Iran's new ambassador to Afghanistan, Hassan Kazemi Qomi, met with the leader of Hizb-e-Islami Golbuddin Hekmatyar, and discussed the formation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan, stressing the expansion of Tehran-Kabul cooperation.

Kazemi Qomi previously met and talked with the Acting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan Amir Khan Muttaqi .

Since the Taliban took power in August 2021, Afghanistan has faced very difficult economic conditions due to the unwillingness of the international community to recognize this group and cooperate with the country; hence, Afghan people have experienced living in crisis since then.

The lack of financial resources needed to import basic goods to Afghanistan such as rice, barley, wheat and corn, as a result of a shortage of food and high price on food items in Afghan markets, has endangered the security of food in Afghanistan, and human rights organizations warn about the humanitarian crisis caused by famine and hunger for millions of people in this country.
