Kabul (IP) - Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh met with some of the current and former Afghan officials to discuss the development and deepening of cultural ties, as well as mechanisms to expanding cooperation in media.

Iran Press/Asia: Khatibzadeh, who is in Kabul, met with Abdullah Abdullah, Chairman of the Supreme National Reconciliation Council, Minister of Information and Culture, Deputy Foreign Minister and Foreign Ministry Spokesman, and former President Hamid Karzai.

He met and discussed the development and deepening of relations in the cultural and media fields.

Joint meetings with some members of parliament, cultural and media elites and some think tanks, meeting with the President of Kabul University and some of its deans, interviews with Ariana TV, and frank and friendly talks with other managers and members of the Afghan media, were among the other programs of the spokesman.

During his visit to Kabul University, Khatibzadeh expressed his condolences to the government and people of Afghanistan, especially the families of the university's students who were recently killed in a terrorist attack, and laid a wreath in honor of the martyrs.

Deepening cultural strategic relations, exchanging media delegations, and inviting media staff and prominent cultural and scientific figures of Afghanistan were among the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman's aims during the visit.
