During a discussion with his Tajikistani counterpart, the Iranian Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance reported a 50% increase in economic ties between Iran and Tajikistan over the previous year.

Iran Press/Asia: Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance of Iran, Abdolnaser Hemmati, who accompanies the president's delegation on a visit to Tajikistan, on his personal social media page following a meeting with his Tajikistani counterpart, stated: "The $380 million trade volume between Iran and Tajikistan, showing a 50% increase in one year, highlights the significant potential for the two countries to enhance economic relations. This potential can be further strengthened through the expansion of tourism connections between the two nations, given their shared language and culture."

He further stated, "During our discussion with the Tajik Minister of Economy, we explored opportunities for investing in and transferring Iranian technology within the construction sector, along with enhancing economic ties between both nations."

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian arrived in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, on an official visit at the invitation of his counterpart Emomali Rahmon.
