Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim have criticized the policies of the United States and some Western countries towards the people of Gaza, accusing them of supporting the Zionist regime's actions against the oppressed and defenseless population.

Iran Press/Asia: In a phone conversation on Monday, the two leaders reviewed the latest developments in the region, particularly the ongoing negotiations to establish a ceasefire in Gaza. They discussed the current status of bilateral relations between Iran and Malaysia.

During the call, Pezeshkian and Ibrahim condemned the media and weapons support provided by the U.S. and Western nations to Israel, stating that this contradicts their claims of defending human rights and efforts to broker a ceasefire in Gaza.

The two sides attributed the continuation of the Zionist regime's crimes against the people of Gaza to the Western countries' support. They emphasized the need for unity and coordinated action among Islamic nations to confront the Zionist regime's crimes and halt the killing and genocide in Gaza.

Pezeshkian and Ibrahim suggested that convening a meeting of the heads of Islamic Cooperation countries would be an effective measure in this direction, as they called for a united stance against the ongoing atrocities in Gaza.

The phone conversation comes amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, which has resulted in the deaths of more than 40 thousand Palestinians and widespread destruction in the Gaza Strip. The international community has faced criticism for its perceived inaction and support for Israel's actions.
