IONS Maritime Exercise (IMEX-22) kicked off today in Goa, India with the presence of the Navies of Iran, India, Bangladesh, and the Indian Ocean countries.

Iran PressAsia: "IONS Maritime Exercise (IMEX-22) will be held in two phases, harbor, and sea. The harbor phase of IMEX will be conducted at Mormugao port from 25 to 27 March 2022, while the sea phase will be conducted in the Arabian Sea from 28 to 30 March 2022. Nine ships from five IONS member countries and 16 observers from 11 member countries have confirmed their participation in the exercise.

Improving the ability of IONS members to deal with natural disasters, and in the exchange of medical aid and diving operations, the use of the IORIS system in the IONS combat group, etc. is one of the objectives of the exercise.

Australia, Mozambique, Oman, Qatar, Singapore, Sri Lanka, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Mauritius, Bangladesh, the Maldives, France, Thailand, and Indonesia are among the observer countries participating in the exercise.
