IP- Independent International Commission of Inquiry proclaims all countries and international organisations, including the United Nations, are obligated to end Israel's illegal presence in occupied Palestinian territories.

Iran PressAmerica: The UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian territories said in a statement that the world must end Israel's occupation of Palestinian lands.

According to the Palestinian news agency, Samaa, the statement also includes the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on the legal consequences arising from the policies and practices of Israel in the Occupied Palestinian Territory indicating that Israel’s presence in the Occupied Palestinian Territory violates international law.

Accordingly, Navi Pillay, chair of the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry, said the root cause of the protracted conflict and violence is "Israel's occupation".

Pillay added that the committee concluded in its 2022 report to the UN General Assembly that the occupation violates international law.

Ms. Pillay also stressed that all countries are obligated not to recognize Israeli territorial claims or sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territories.

Pillay concluded by saying countries should not support Israel's continued occupation of Palestinian territories, recognize al-Quds as Israel's capital, or place their diplomatic representatives to Isreal in al-Quds.
