Iran Press/ Iran news: Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli pointed out on Friday morning that executive officials and election observers were stationed in 66,000 presidential election polling stations and more than 75,000 city and rural council polling stations.
Emphasizing that the observers should carefully carry out the responsibility of monitoring, the Iranian Interior Minister stated: "Given that the people's vote is a manifestation of their will to transfer power and govern Iran, it must be well protected."
Voting will run nonstop in polling stations
Rahmani Fazli also rejected the reports received about the disruption of the voting process, noting: "There have been no problems in the process of voting. We have 70,000 polling stations. In some places, there was a power outage. In some places, something happens to the computer systems. In all cases, the problems had been solved immediately."
He said: "Voting will never be halted in any way, because it will be done offline immediately, and then the votes will be registered in the computer's systems."
Interior Minister stated: "Voting started at 7 am; therefore, I emphasize that voting is running in all polling stations. If there is a problem while it is normal due to the number of polling stations namely 70,000 stations, voting will be done offline."
Regarding the mobile ballot boxes for COVID-19 patients, he said: "If they give a list of their names, we will provide a mobile ballot box for them. In hospitals, there is always a mobile ballot box. We can also send the boxes for patients who are in quarantine."
