Iran Press/ Iran News: Attending his weekly press conference and in response to the Iran Press' question, Saeed Khatibzadeh pointed to maneuver which Republic of Azerbaijan is going to hold in the region, calling it totally natural.
Like Iran, other countries in the region hold maneuvers to improve their readiness and inform other countries ahead, he added.
Referring to the latest insecurities in the region, Khatibzadeh said that the Israeli regime's presence in the region was the reason for all insecurities.
All countries in the region must be aware that the presence of the Israeli regime brings nothing but terror and arrogance, Foreign Ministry Spokesman stated.
The Israeli regime’s presence from the Persian Gulf to the north of Iran and Syria brings insecurity for all countries in the region, Saeed Khatibzadeh pointed out.
Iran would not tolerate the Israeli regime’s presence near its borders and it has been announced to neighboring countries in a friendly way, he concluded.
Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan
The Foreign Ministry spokesman also referred to the military drills in the Republic of Azerbaijan and the purchase of weapons from the Zionist regime: "It is normal for the exercises to be carried out by the countries of the region, but the countries must provide accurate information about this."
"The insecurity in the region stems from the illegitimate presence of the Zionist regime," he said. "The roots of the regime have grown in violence and terror," the spokesperson noted.
Khatibzadeh stated: From the south to the north of Iran and the Mediterranean region, there was also insecurity wherever the occupying regime of Quds was present. We have told our neighbors through various friendly channels that Iran does not tolerate the presence of the Zionist regime near its borders, and we are not joking with anyone on the issue.
Iran has never set a precondition for US
Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said that Iran had never set a precondition for the United States.
"We have never set a precondition for the US because it is not a member of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)," Khatibzadeh said in his weekly presser.
Regarding Thursday's talks on the revival of the JCPOA and the visit of EU envoy Enrique Mora to Iran, he said: "The talks were good and constructive and will continue in the next few days in Brussels."
On the remarks of Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, who called for serious action by the United States, he said: "The nuclear talks case is being followed up at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the new negotiating team will follow it."
He added: "What has been said by the president and the foreign minister is that the negotiations are continuing and what is being done is to clarify some points that have arisen in the six rounds of talks in Vienna."
The Foreign Ministry spokesman continued: "Iran is looking for guarantees."
Biden administration no different from Trump
He added: "The US should follow another path instead of continuing Trump's path. By putting maximum pressure on Iran the current US administration continues Trump's path, and it shows that the Biden administration is no different from Trump, and in practice, what we have seen has been continuity, not change."
Khatibzadeh stated that the new government in Iran wants to enter into negotiations with the diagnosis of what has happened.
"President Ebrahim Raisi announced that the talks would continue. The important thing is not to waste time. Vienna's six rounds of talks have shown that it can succeed if done with a diagnosis," he noted.
Iran-Saudi Arabia talks
Regarding the Saudi Foreign Minister's statement that the talks with Iran have not progressed tangibly, Khatibzadeh added: "Four rounds of talks with Saudi Arabia on bilateral and regional issues have been held in a positive and friendly atmosphere."
"The contacts are continuing," he said. "I think the best term to describe the atmosphere of dialogue is "respectful," it was respectful and serious, which we hope will come to result.
Khatibzadeh also did not confirm Deutsche Welle's news that a delegation from Saudi Arabia was visiting Iran.
Afghanistan, terrorism, and dialogue
"We are in contact with all parties in Afghanistan, including the Taliban. The Taliban have direct and special responsibility for the peace and stability of Afghanistan, including the protection of the lives of Hazaras and Shiites. Iran is very concerned in this regard. The Taliban have stated that they will do their utmost to prevent a recurrence of such terrorist acts," he added.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman also said: "Next Wednesday, we will host the foreign ministers of Afghanistan's neighboring countries in person."
He also announced that Iran would participate in the Moscow summit on Afghanistan at the level of special envoy.
Developments in Iraq
On developments in Iraq and the holding of parliamentary elections, Khatibzaded said: "What is happening in Iraq is being followed by the Iraqi people and parties, and Iran, for its part, considers the holding of these elections to be a step towards building a democratic society in Iraq."
