Jakarta(IP): Indonesian President Joko Widodo in his meeting with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, expressed hope that the volume of trade between Iran and Indonesia will increase.

Iran PressAsia: Indonesian President Joko Widodo and the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, discussed the latest developments related to the global geopolitical situation and the strengthening of bilateral cooperation in a meeting in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Joko also pointed to the signing of the preferential trade agreement between Iran and Indonesia and expressed hope that the volume of trade between Iran and Indonesia will increase.

The volume of trade between Iran and Indonesia in 2022 is estimated at 256 million dollars. This figure has increased by 23% compared to 2021.

The President of the Republic of Indonesia also expressed his hope that the joint cooperation between this country and Iran in the field of transfer of experiences related to technology and scientific research will increase.

High-ranking officials of Iran and Indonesia signed 11 documents and memoranda of cooperation in order to expand and deepen economic and political interactions.

The preferential trade agreement, cancellation of visas, cultural exchanges, supervisory cooperation on the production of pharmaceutical products, cooperation in the fields of science, technology and innovation, and bilateral cooperation in the field of oil and gas, including cooperation documents signed between the ministers of foreign affairs, communications and information technology and oil.
