Iran Press/ Iran News: Barari said in the opening ceremony of World Space Week that Iran sent two satellites into space last year, and that this year three more satellites will be launched into space.
Head of Iran's Space Agency said private companies will produce our satellites in the future and we are happy to invite private investors to collaborate with us in the field of space science, Iran Press reported.
Barari also said our main goal is to have good space diplomacy with our neighbors.
He said the 'Nahid' satellite will be the first Iranian telecommunication satellite to be launched into space this year.
In the inauguration ceremony, two astronauts one from Russia and one from Kazakhstan were special guests of honor, and they both talked about their experiences in space and space travel. The two astronauts were Anatoli Barstki (from Russia ) and Mousa Bayouf (from Kazakhstan).
Mousa Bayouf said he carried the Holy Quran with him into space, and that throughout the trip the Holy Quran was close to him. He also said during a spacewalk he had a miraculous escape from certain death. But, he said, no (Western) media was prepared to report this, because they don't like Muslims in space.
