Iran Press/Iran News: Abdolnaser Hemmati announced on Wednesday that Iran has taken appropriate steps in the process of fighting the coronavirus relying on its legal resources, adding that however; illegal US sanctions would prevent Iran from having access to its resources abroad.
Following the COVID-19 outbreak, Iran applied for a loan from the IMF, but with the opposition of the United States, Iran's name was removed from the list of borrowers of this fund.
Eight months after the outbreak, the International Monetary Fund has not yet responded to Iran's request.

As the governor of the Central Bank of Iran recently told the Managing Director of the IMF, the coronavirus is a global crisis and the need for global cooperation has never been so excessive, and no country is safe from this crisis unless all countries are safe.
