Iran Press/Iran news: In a phone call with the Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi on Wednesday night, the Iranian First Vice President, Eshagh Jahangiri appreciated Iraq's hosting Tasu'a and Ashura's pilgrims.
Jahangiri pointed out the crowds heading in millions to Iraq on Tasu'a, Ashura, and Arbaeen, saying that how the rituals of these days are performed at peace without any problem is not easily understandable for other countries, Iran Press reported.
The Iranian First Vice President also expressed condolences over the martyrdom of a number of Imam Hussein's (PBUH) mourners in the Karbala incident.
On Tuesday, more than 30 pilgrims died and over 100 were injured as a result of a stampede at the Ashura mourning ceremony in Karbala, south of Iraq.
The Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi also on his part referred that the deep friendly relations between Iraq and Iranian nations and said: "The agreements reached between the two countries are being implemented with a good pace, and with the seriousness and positive will of both countries, cooperation between Tehran and Baghdad will be expanded more than ever."
