Jamal Orf, Interior Ministry election headquarters chief

Tehran (IP)- Jamal Orf, the Election Headquarters Chief, says that ignoring health protocols by the presidential candidates' electoral campaign headquarters is an electoral violation.

Iran PressIran news: The seven presidential candidates have been briefed on health protocols, Jamal Orf, the election headquarters chief, said on a TV program about holding presidential elections during the coronavirus pandemic on Saturday night.

The election headquarters chief stated that many countries held elections during the pandemic for one or more days. Iran's law also does not allow for an increase in voting days, so we planned to extend election hours.

Orf noted that 8 a.m. on June 18 is the start of voting and that it will be possible to extend the voting until 2 a.m. the next day.

"The number of polling stations had also increased, from 62,000 in the past four years to 72,000 across Iran," Orf added.
