The al-Shifa Hospital is still under military siege as Israeli tanks and armored vehicles have closed in on the health facility from all sides – from the north, east, and southern parts, just about a couple of hundred meters away.

Iran PressWest Asia: According to Al-Jazeera, Israeli regime forces are targeting the hospital repeatedly and attack drones are hovering at a low altitude over the area.

The director of the hospital Muhammad Abu Salmiya talked about possible coordination with ambulances and the Red Cross to evacuate patients and the babies in incubators.

However, it is impossible to move the babies anywhere since most hospitals in northern Gaza are under heavy targets, have lost electricity, and are also low on supplies to treat patients properly. There is also no electricity to keep the incubators running.

Palestinian health officials are looking for a safe corridor to evacuate those babies. Israel’s attacks have killed 4,104 children in Gaza during the current war, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reports. These deaths have been reported over one month of violence. That’s comfortably more than 100 children killed every day on average.

Gaza has a population of 2.3 million people living in an area of 365sq km (140sq miles), which amounts to a population density of 6,300 people per square kilometer (16,320 people per square mile).

Children make up 47 percent of Gaza’s population, according to UNICEF. 219
