Beirut (IP) – Hezbollah has announced that its fighters successfully repelled Israeli forces attempting to cross into southern Lebanon during intense clashes near the border in the early hours of Tuesday.

Iran Press/ West Asia: According to a report from Al-Ahed news, the confrontation occurred at the Labbouneh border area, where Israeli forces were forced to retreat back into Israeli-occupied territory following heavy resistance from Hezbollah. The clashes, which reportedly involved a significant exchange of fire, saw Hezbollah fighters targeting the advancing Israeli forces with rockets and artillery.

The barrage resulted in multiple casualties on the Israeli side, though the exact number is not clear.

Earlier reports from Al-Mayadeen TV suggested that Israeli forces had advanced from a position behind a UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon) center, triggering direct combat with Hezbollah fighters positioned in the area.
