Islamabad (IP) - The Pakistani government has imposed restrictions in Islamabad in an effort to prevent protests by supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party in the nation's capital.

Iran Press/Asia: Security forces and police have been deployed across various parts of Islamabad. Major entry points to the capital have been barricaded with shipping containers, effectively sealing off access to the city.

Adding to the disruptions, internet services in Islamabad have been significantly affected, with widespread outages reported.

PTI supporters from cities across Pakistan are reportedly marching towards Islamabad but are encountering resistance and blockades from security forces.

In a related development, Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has urged Gohar Ali Khan, the leader of PTI, to cancel the planned demonstrations in Islamabad. However, the PTI party has yet to respond to the minister's request.

As tensions rise, Islamabad remains on high alert, with authorities determined to prevent large-scale gatherings in the capital.
