Damascus (IP): The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Abbass Araghchi stated: "Halting the crimes of the Zionist regime in Lebanon and Gaza requires the collective efforts of the international community."

Abbas Araghchi stated this in an interview with the Iran Press reporter at Damascus Airport: "The most important discussion of the day is now the ceasefire in Lebanon and Gaza; There are also initiatives in this regard and consultations that we hope will come to fruition."

Iranian top diplomat went on to say: "Our efforts are continuing and we hope to be able to reach an understanding with our friends in Damascus for the next steps."

He announced the purpose of his trip to Damascus to continue consultations regarding the developments in the region and said: "In Beirut, I held very important consultations with Lebanese government officials and other personalities, and I came to Damascus for further consultations with the Syrian government."

Also, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran expressed his regret that the Zionist regime continues its enmities and crimes and added, "We believed from the onset, this regime knows no other language but the language of force and every day its crimes in Beirut, South Lebanon and Gaza continues."

Araghchi pointed out: "In the meeting with the Syrian authorities, we will have an overview of bilateral relations and cooperation in the economic and cultural fields, but due to the special conditions of the region, the discussion about the developments in the region and at the international level becomes more important."
