Iran Press/Iran news: Speaking at a press conference in Tehran on Wednesday Iranian government spokesman Ali Rabiei emphasized that much of the meeting of the heads of the three branches of the government, hosted by Judiciary chief, Ebrahim Raisi, was devoted to the subject of combating bureaucratic corruption and fraud.
Ali Rabiei also emphasized that prevention of fraud and corruption is also very important and that President Hassan Rouhani has already ordered a comprehensive campaign to tackle corruption and the president has also expressed his full backing for the campaign against corruption and fraud launched by Iran's Judiciary, Iran Press reported.
Asked to comment on the firing-cum-resignation of John Bolton, the hardline US national security adviser, Ali Rabiei said he would refrain from comment since this is an internal US matter.
However, Rabiei did say that Bolton was a hawkish figure within the Trump administration who espoused extremist positions and whether his departure will have an effect on US foreign policy remains to be seen and is far from certain. 101/211
