Iran Press/ America: According to the University tracker, there are 39,502,909 Covid-19 cases globally and 1,106,705 patients globally have succumbed to the virus.
Globally, 27,148,927 patients infected from the virus have recovered, the tracker states. The US continues to be the worst-affected country due to the virus with 8,086,780 cases and 218,980 fatalities, which are the most deaths in the world.
The US has registered over 219,000 deaths and more than 8.1 million infections – both the highest in the world. A new ensemble forecast published by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Thursday projects up to 240,000 COVID-19 deaths in the United States by November 7.
Brazil has reported 24,062 new cases of the novel coronavirus and 461 deaths from the disease caused by the virus in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health said.
The South American country has registered 5,224,362 cases since the pandemic began, while the official death toll from Covid-19 has risen to 153,675 in the world’s deadliest outbreak outside the United States, according to the ministry.
France on Saturday reported a record rise in COVID-19 cases with 32,427 new infections registered over the past 24 hours, according to figures from the Sante Publique agency heading the coronavirus response in the country.
Both the Austrian and Belgian foreign ministers have tested positive for the coronavirus, their offices announced on Saturday, raising the possibility that they might have caught it at a meeting with European Union counterparts in Luxembourg on Monday.
