Former US President arrived at a lower Manhattan courthouse Monday morning for his civil trial over charges he overinflated the values of his many properties.

Iran PressAmerica: Former US President Donald Trump has arrived at the Manhattan courthouse where a New York supreme court judge will today open the damages phase of his and his family’s civil fraud trial.

The former president faces the prospect of significant penalties that could cost him control of some of his major real estate holdings, including Trump Tower in New York City.

Former US president Donald Trump raged against the 'rogue judge' at the start of his civil fraud trial in New York Monday, calling the prosecution an 'attempt to hurt me in an election.'

It was a fiery start to a trial that has the former president facing up to $250 million in fines, with the licenses for his New York real estate empire already in jeopardy.

Trump spoke outside the courthouse where the penalty phase of his trial is expected to last weeks.

Attorney General Letitia James, whose lawsuit may put Trump out of business in the Empire State, also will appear to witness opening statements in the high-profile case.

Trump has accused the AG and trial judge of bias, noting that both were elected on the Democratic ticket. His attorney Christopher Kise, who also represents Trump in the classified documents case, has argued that nobody was harmed by the alleged fraud, since the Trump Organization’s SFCs went to sophisticated parties like Deutsche Bank, which performed their own due diligence.
