Geneva (IP)- Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian met and talked with Kuwait's Foreign Minister Abdullah Ali Al Yahya on the sidelines of the 55th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland.

Iran PressEurope: In this meeting, some topics of interest to the two countries in the bilateral field were discussed and exchanged.The parties emphasized their readiness to continue meetings and consultations.

Referring to his previous visit to Kuwait, ossein Amirabdollahian said, Considering the strong commonalities between the two neighboring countries, the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to expand and strengthen its relations in all fields with Kuwait. He emphasized the readiness of our country to make more active joint mechanisms between the two countries , including the joint commission, consular and border committee.

Expressing his concern about the complex situation of Palestine, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of our country described the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip as catastrophic.

He described America's talk of trying to reduce the intensity of the war instead of a ceasefire as a green light for the Zionist regime to continue killing Palestinians. Also, referring to Iran's proposal to hold an extraordinary meeting of foreign ministers of the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, he expressed hope that this meeting could achieve a collective action to end the genocide of Palestinians.

Abdullah Ali Al-Hiya, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait, while expressing his satisfaction with this meeting, requested that the greetings of the Emir of Kuwait be conveyed to the Supreme Leader of the Revolution and the President of our country.

He said: Kuwait welcomes the development of relations with Iran, and the development of relations with Iran is one of Kuwait's priorities, and his country is ready to activate all the joint committees of the two countries.

Abdullah Ali Elahia considered the development of trade relations between the two countries very important and emphasized the need for a joint meeting of the delegations of the two countries for this purpose. He also expressed his gratitude for the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of our country to visit Tehran and expressed his desire to make the trip at the agreed time.

In this meeting, Kuwait's foreign minister explained his country's views and efforts to end the war against Gaza and send humanitarian aid to the Palestinians.

Furthermore, Iran's foreign minister has also met with the president of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, and the foreign ministers of Vietnam and Jordan, on the sidelines of the 55th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva.
