Iran Press/ Middle East: "Consultations and cooperation between the countries of the region and Muslim countries will play an important role to create lasting security in the region," Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said in Damascus on Sunday after meeting with his Syrian counterpart.
Amir-Abdollahian added: "Very useful talks were held between him and the Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad to further expand relations. The two sides are drawing up a plan to boost economic and trade cooperation to counter the oppressive sanctions imposed by the enemies."
"We have close consultations on the developments in Afghanistan and believe that the formation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan as a political solution should be considered by all parties," he said.
Emphasizing that the Zionist regime is an important cause of insecurity in the region, Amir-Abdollahian noted that the Zionists captured Muslims, Christians, and Jews in the region and Palestine.
He added that serious cooperation between the private sector and businessmen of Iran and Syria was one of the issues that were seriously considered by both sides during the visit.
