Iran Press/Iran News: Iran's Foreign Minister Spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi said on Thursday that the Islamic Republic of Iran has repeatedly stated its readiness to exchange Iranian prisoners for the Americans.
Mousavi added: "Several Iranian citizens have been taken hostage for fictitious and illegal reasons for so-called evading of US sanctions in this country, which has not happened from Iran's point of view."
The spokesman for Iran's foreign ministry also referred to the goodwill of some countries, including the Swiss ambassador and Swiss government, over the release of Iranian prisoners in the USA, saying "in case the prisoners are exchanged, the innocence of Iranian citizens who are accused of the so-called evading of US sanctions will be pursued".
