Iran Press/ Iran News: Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Muradov telephoned Hossein Amir-Abdullahian on Tuesday night to congratulate him on the holy month of Ramadan and to discuss some bilateral and international issues of mutual concern, especially expanding cooperation between the Caspian littoral states.
Referring to the preparation of a draft document on cooperation in the Caspian Sea basin, cooperation in scientific fields, search and rescue operations, fighting against narcotics, as well as deepening cooperation between the littoral states, Muradov suggested that a joint meeting be held between the foreign ministers of the five Caspian littoral states to expand multilateral cooperation.
For his part, Amir-Abdullahian referred to the continuing development of friendly relations between the two countries and stressed Iran's determination to expand these relations in all fields, especially the increase of cooperation between the Caspian Sea littoral states.
He added: "The Islamic Republic of Iran always welcomes regional cooperation to further expand relations, especially in the Caspian Sea basin."
Amir Abdullahian also congratulated his Turkmen counterpart on the holy month of Ramadan.
