Islamabad (IP) - Pakistan is going to host the 23rd meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Islamabad from 15th to 16th October in the capital city.

Iran PressAsia: Among other prominent heads and officials of the governments, Mohammed Reza Aref and other delegates will represent the Islamic Republic of Iran.

An essential delegation from Iran arrived in Islamabad last night while the First Vice President Mohammed Reza Aref is expected tonight. Prime Ministers of China, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan will participate in the summit, while the First Vice President of Iran and Foreign Minister of India will come to Pakistan to participate in SCO.

The Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Cabinet of Mongolia, and Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan will also participate in the summit. The government of Pakistan has completed all the preparations for the meeting. In this regard, not only strict security arrangements have been made in the capital, but Islamabad has also been beautifully decorated and flags of the member countries along with the pictures of the precious guests are placed by the roadside.

The Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif visited the Jinnah Convention Center (the venue of the summit) yesterday to review the arrangements for the meeting. The Prime Minister was briefed by the Chairman of CDA and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials about the preparations.

The federal government has announced a three-day holiday in Islamabad from October 15 to 17 to make security arrangements effective, while various highways in the city will also be closed for general traffic on the occasion of the meeting.
