Iran Press/ Iran news: "Today is the first day of the first conference on AI (Artificial Intelligence) in medical imaging. Nowadays, there are many applications in medical imaging that are connected to AI and deep learning. So due to this fact, in order to boost research and cooperation fields among Iranian and foreign scientists, we decided to launch a conference in this field," said Dr. Mohammad Reza Ay, the director of National Brain Mapping Laboratory in an exclusive interview with Iran Press.
"Last year, the AI Network in medical imaging started its work with the help of specialists from different universities and we have invited all the researchers in the country to join this network," he mentioned.
"I am happy to inform that in this first conf. we have lectures from pioneers in this field," he continued.
"NBML (National Brain Mapping Lab) could be a good starting point as it is central and brings different researchers under one roof. We do hope to act as a hub in the country in order to connect all researchers in AI science in different fields involving engineering as well as medical sciences in order to improve the quality of healthcare," Dr. Ay reiterated.
"We also have several participants from Iraq and they have requested us to hold a workshop on the applications of Al in medical imaging," NBML director said.
"In comparison to other countries Iran is standing in a good point in this field and there are potentials to further improve in this field," he noted.
