Iran Press/ Iran News: Referring to the contract of cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and India for the development of the Chabahar port, Mohammad Rastad added: "The contract includes short-term and long-term contracts, with the short-term contract, of 18 months duration, due to end in the next 6 months."
The official added: "According to the contract, the temporary exploitation with the participation of Indian company IPGL has been done since last year and Indian operator has taken over the port operations."

He said: "After the completion of the interim contract, we hope that the original contract will be executed under a build-operate-transfer (BOT) contract and with the outfitting of Chabahar port by Indian operator the contract goes on.
He added: "There are issues and problems with some of the Indian side's commitments that have been reached through negotiations and meetings with the Indian Ministry of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways and we hope we can resolve these shortcomings so that all the Indian side's commitments can be realized".
Managing Director of Ports and Maritime Organization on the status of fulfillment of the obligations of the Iranian side also said: "Our most important commitment was to prepare the port infrastructure and terminal delivery in the form of temporary exploitation that has been fulfilled, but there are some points on the main contract that both sides should agree on to reach a final agreement."
"We have meetings with the Indian operator with the presence of Indian ambassador to Iran to come to a final conclusion on the remaining issues," Rastad added. 207/211
