After a 3-0 defeat in the semi-finals against Argentina, Croatia is back training in Doha for the third-place playoff against Morocco.

Iran PressMiddle East: All but two World Cup tournaments in history – the first edition in 1930 and then again in 1950 – have featured third-place playoffs, and it could be viewed as a nice way to end your tournament on a high after a disappointing defeat.

Although the third-place match is often viewed as a friendly one, Croatian forward Andrej Kramarić set the record straight. He said both Morocco and Croatia would fight for the bronze medal.

On Tuesday, Luka Modric and his team were beaten by a Lionel Messi-inspired Argentina.

Morocco’s stunning run to the semifinals, which saw the Atlas Lions become the first African country and an Arab nation in history to reach the last four of a World Cup, was ended by a 2-0 defeat to France on Wednesday.
