Iranian ambassador to UK Hamid Baeidinejad

Iran's ambassador to the UK warned that the failure of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) would lead to deleterious consequences for the world's security.

Iran Press/Iran news: In an interview with Sky News Network on Tuesday, Iran's ambassador to UK Hamid Baeidinejad said that after the US unilateral withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the European parties failed to fulfill their commitments, yet Iran adopted measures to preserve the international deal.

He noted that Tehran is working to ensure that the JCPOA is not completely abolished and that the other sides' return to fulfill its obligations.

Iran reduced some of its obligations under the JCPOA to warn the other parties that its patience could not be sustained, asking the parties to do their commitments, the Iranian ambassador added.

Asked about renegotiating the JCPOA international deal with the US to reach a deal involving Iran's missile program, Hamid Baeidinejad asserted that renegotiation of the deal violates it entirely.

Speaking on Tuesday at the opening ceremony of the Azadi Innovation Factory, which supports startup and knowledge-based companies, President Hassan Rouhani commented on Iran's landmark nuclear deal with world powers, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and said he will shortly give the order for the fourth incremental step to further reduce Iran's commitment to JCPOA.

He said, "Iran's 4th step will begin tomorrow (Wednesday) when gas will be injected into new centrifuges at the Fordow facility."

He pointedly noted that if other signatories to the nuclear deal don't honor their commitments, they can't expect Iran to honor its commitments fully.
