Iran Press/Iran news: Secretary of High Council of Free Trade-Industrial Zones, Morteza Bank and Abadan MP Amer Kaabi visited Arvand Free Zone located in southwestern province of Khuzestan on Tuesday.
Secretary of High Council of Free Trade-Industrial Zones emphasized that Arvand Zones will turn to Iran's export zones adding that Iranian Free Trade-Industrial Zones provide good opportunities for exporting of goods.
According to an Iran Press report, Morteza Bank said creation of Jobs and industrial production in FTZs are important.
Abadan MP Amer Kaabi also noted the tourism capacity of Arvand FTZ and said: "The Iraqi Market has a definite role in growth of Arvand Free Trade-Industrial Zone."
The Arvand Free Zone with an area of 37,400 hectares is at the confluence of the Karun and Arvand rivers. The Zone is located at a height of three meters above sea level and in proximity to Iraq and in the north west of Persian Gulf.
This Zone has long been one of the border and oil rich zones of the country due to the existence of freshwater Rivers of Karun and Arvand and also transportation facilities including road, rail, sea and air. It has been led to the establishment of the first oil refinery of the Middle East and the largest trade port of the country. 101/ 211 /205
