At least two people were wounded after an explosion rocked near a big mosque in central neighborhood of Kabul, capital of Afghanistan on Wednesday, witnesses and sources said.

At least two people were wounded in an explosion triggered by a magnetic bomb in Kabul city earlier today, the security officials said.

The incident took place in the vicinity of the 16th police district of the city after a magnetic bomb planted in a security forces vehicle went off.

According to the security officials, the two wounded individuals are members of the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces.

However, the Ministry of Public Health officials are saying that three wounded people have been transferred to the hospital for the treatment.

No individual or group has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.

This comes as the anti-government armed groups are attempting to carry out attacks in the key provinces and cities of the country during the recent months.

At least thirteen people were killed or wounded after an improvised explosive device was detonated near a sit-in camp in Chama Huzori area of the city nearly two weeks ago.

Earlier, a suicide bomber targeted a gathering of people close to Sakhi shrine on the eve of the new Solar Year, leaving more than 30 people dead and scores of others wounded.
