Iran Press/ Europe: On Monday, the Council of Foreign Ministers of the European Union added seven Iranian figures to its sanctions list under the pretext of human rights issues.
Abbas Bagherpour criticized the politicization of human rights for short-sighted purposes and argued that the EU's sanctions are ineffective.
He also pointed out that the list of the so-called human rights violators does not include names from the United States, Israel's apartheid regime, or Europeans who have committed heinous crimes as UN peacekeepers.
The ambassador further highlighted that despite widespread crimes against children, the name of the Israeli regime is not included in a recent United Nations annual report entitled "Shame List," which lists children's rights violators in armed conflicts.
