Iran news: According to an Iran Press report Brigadier General Gholam Reza Jalali, head of Passive Defence Organisation of Iran, has said all sensitive government departments and ministries need to have an electricity generator, to deal with emergencies and power outages. He was speaking at "Shahid Ghandi" lecture theater in the ministry of information and communication Technology on Tuesday.
In further remarks, General Jalali said America's new strategy vis-a-vis Iran is 'combined warfare', where the Iranian people are the real targets of America, in the sense that the US government is using a combination of media campaign, social networking sites, and cyberspace to target the Iranian people and pursue its anti-Iran agenda.

Referring to earlier remarks by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution who had said: "War will not occur, and we will not negotiate with the United States either", General Jalali said: "The Leader of the Islamic Revolution has chosen the path of resistance, and thus our strategy and our approach must also be based upon resistance."

The head of Passive Defence Organisation added: "As cyberspace becomes more developed, and new technologies such as internet of things and internet of people become more widely available, government control is reduced, and correspondingly threats increase."
General Jalali went on to describe internet of things and intelligent or smart objects as a real threat and danger to the country, adding: "With intelligent objects and communication between different parts of a system, exchange of data, and 'control from a distance', the enemy has the opportunity to control our computer systems from afar, through the use of intelligent or smart objects."
He pointedly added: "The responsibility of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology is so much greater now."
Also in an exclusive interview on November 4, Brigadier General Gholam Reza Jalali, head of Passive Defence Organisation of Iran, has said more attention needs to be paid to cyber threats against commercial ports and shipping, insisting that this is a real area of concern.
Brigadier General Jalali said: "Cyber threats which impact our ports and maritime operations are a critical issue which must be discussed, and we must be payed great attention to this issue." 211/103
