Enemies will face crushing response if they undertake action against Iran

The General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces has declared full support for Tehran's new policy in relation to JCPOA, warning enemies about any action against Iran.

Iran Press/Iran news: After President Rouhani's televised address on Wednesday morning about “reciprocal measures” and a new approach in relation to the multilateral nuclear agreement (JCPOA) between Iran and the world powers, the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces issued a statement on Wednesday, declaring its full support for the new policy.

Addressing the Iranian people, the statement said: "Relying on the authority of the Islamic Establishment and its internal capacities, and also paying more attention to economic resistance, we will cross this step once again and will defeat the enemy, preventing the enemy from achieving any of its goals."

General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces' statement noted Iran's good intentions and commitment to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), also noting America's repeated dishonouring and undermining of this landmark diplomatic achievement. The statement also noted that other signatories of JCPOA had not carried out their commitments and obligations under the agreement, Iran Press reported.

The statement urged the general public to remain vigilant towards enemy psychological operations, declaring the Armed Forces' readiness to fully defend and protect the Islamic Republic of Iran and its people.

The statement also warned the enemies about any rash moves against Iran, saying any aggression will face a crushing response, and the aggressor will regret its actions.

On Wednesday, Iran issued a stern warning to the European signatories of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) giving them a 60-day period to fulfil their obligations, promises and commitments under the JCPOA, and warning them that Iran's patience has reached its limit.

Tehran now expects to see the European signatories to the agreement implement their obligations. The warning was issued on the first anniversary of US abrogation of the multilateral nuclear agreement, JCPOA. 101/211/205
